J.K. Rowling gave fans another reason to not watch that cursed ‘Harry Potter’ show

If you thought that having a studio on her would stop J.K. Rowling’s continued attack on the trans community, think again. If anything, the new money she’s been getting thanks to the Harry Potter series seems to be helping her cause.

Rowling, who was once a beloved author, has turned into the franchise’s own troll in the dungeon. The Harry Potter author has, in recent years, used her platform and millions of dollars to attack the trans community, disguising her hatred as “feminism” and pushed a narrative that she’s trying to fight for women’s rights while actively hurting women everywhere.

And before a transphobe tries to say something, trans women are women. But Rowling’s attacks have also hurt cisgender women as well. So it isn’t a fight for “women” at all. It is literally an anti-feminist movement that Rowling continues to push but that’s not the point of this piece. This is just another reminder why you should not be giving Rowling your money.

Rowling has started “The J.K. Rowling Women’s Fund.” Their goal? “A legal fighting fund for women protecting their sex-based rights.” And she’s using her own personal fortunate to do it. Rowling took to X to post about her fund after another anti-trans user asked where they could donate. She responded by writing ““I looked into all options and a private fund is the most efficient, streamlined way for me to do this. Lots of people are offering to contribute, which I truly appreciate, but there are many other women’s rights orgs that could do with the money, so donate away, just not to me!”

You cannot separate Harry Potter from Rowling’s transphobic views

As much as you want to engage with this franchise, watch these films or this new show, or even go and spend money on merchandise, this is where it all goes. That money that Rowling is using to push anti-trans legislation comes from fans of her franchise. She has made it abduntantly clear that she does not care about the generation her work inspired. What Rowling cares about is taking away the rights of women and masquerading it behind some “righteous” fight for women.

Rowling’s views do not speak for me and yet she has made it so anyone who enjoys the Harry Potter franchise must answer for her transphobia. Why are you filled with such hatred? Do you not see that you’re forcing women who loved your work to suffer and hurt? What Rowling wants isn’t a fight for women. It is a fight for power and it is hateful.

So if you want to watch that Harry Potter show, you need to be aware of where your support is going. It might have been easy for you to ignore it before because it was her tweeting but now she is actively posting about donating her wealth to anti-trans legislation and I personally do not want my own hard earned money going to something like that. So if you needed another reason to not watch the series, hopefully Rowling’s latest stunt will help you make the decision a little easier.
