Even ex-MAGAs are roasting Donald Trump’s recklessness

Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci slammed President Donald Trump for his chaotic tariff policy. Prior to being a Trump administration critic, Scaramucci served under Trump’s first term as his communications director for ten days.
Pamela Brown from The Situation Room with CNN asked Scaramucci if there was a possibility that Trump’s tariffs “could be a winning strategy” for Americans. This is a perspective considered amid the confusion, but Scaramucci didn’t think the president’s actions are going to benefit American people at all.
“You’re breaching the trust of our allies. You’re breaching the trust of our trading partners.” The financier suggested resolving issues diplomatically with allies instead of going all-in on tariffs. Nevertheless, Scaramucci reasoned that it “wouldn’t have gotten” Trump the attention that Scaramucci thinks the president is desperate for.
Destruction with no goal in sight
“The stuff that he’s doing is nonsensical. And even if he gets some wins here, he’s like an arsonist who sets fire to the house and then runs outside with the hose,” Scaramucci said of Trump. As scathing as those words are, Scaramucci is no stranger to scrutinizing the president’s decisions. He’s known for his unfiltered call-outs against Trump online and during interviews. Scaramucci once lambasted Trump for being a “full-blown racist,” a “low-life,” and “maniacally narcissistic,” among other colorful descriptions. President Trump himself bit back against Scaramucci due to the constant criticism he receives from his former White House Communications Director.
In a separate YouTube post, Scaramucci doubled down on where he stands with Trump’s recent economic decision. He explained the absurdity of Trump’s “liberation day” tariffs. The financier believes that Trump has no end goal in sight for his damaging economic policy. “What is the expected outcome? What is he looking for? He was like the evil orange Moses with the Ten Evil Commandments,” Scaramucci joked about the large tablet Trump held when he announced his “reciprocal” tariffs against several countries and territories.
He added, “None of it made any sense. The calculations that he put on the tablet had really nothing to do with the tariffs.” Just like any average citizen, Scaramucci was confused about the president’s goal. But if the target is to beat other countries into economic submission, the trade war will be long and hard-fought. With more skepticism against the United States than ever, it would be simpler if other countries fought back with equally devastating tariffs of their own.
