‘Blue Lock’ chapter 299 leaks, release date, confirmed

Nagi Seishiro gets eliminated in Chapter 298 of the Blue Lock manga

There’s been much speculation about Blue Lock chapter 299. After the shocking twist in chapter 298, it’s no wonder that fans are already looking for leaks about Nagi’s fate.

The Blue Lock project is merciless, and even inherently talented players break under the pressure of having to grow and evolve into better versions of themselves. Just like Michael Kaiser in the previous chapters, Nagi Seishiro second-guessed his strategy and play. Nagi, desperate to play differently, decided against passing the ball to Reo Mikage in chapter 298.

It would have been a decent decision if Nagi weren’t plagued by doubt. But Nagi’s hesitation allowed Meguru Bachira to steal the ball from him. In one fell swoop, FC Barcha scored three points against Manshine City. Aside from losing the point, Nagi—a genius—fell out of the rankings. Despite the anticipation for Chapter 299, Blue Lock is currently on hiatus. The next chapter will be released on April 16 at 12AM JST on Kodansha. This means the chapter will be available for North American and European readers on April 15.

The leaks, on the other hand, have been surfacing panel after panel since April 7, 2025. Blurred copies of the manga are already being shared online. While the sketches are being leaked, many of these panels are being censored.

Bachira’s anti-hero arc

Some panels seem to show Bachira talking smack about Nagi, who was just eliminated. He claims that potential doesn’t matter and that players who can’t be independent are “trash.” It’s a rather harsh way of talking about someone who just had to leave the field, but Blue Lock has been eliminating players left and right. The worst that could happen is Nagi being permanently eliminated.

This wouldn’t be the first time a character was kicked off the field only to return. Kunigami, who was also eliminated, walked through the Wild Card door and came back stronger than before.
